What's Important To Us
At Albury Treetops, our vision is grounded in a deep respect for children, families, educators and place. We believe early childhood is a time of rich possibility, where relationships, curiosity and thoughtful environments come together to shape meaningful learning.
Our values guide how we design our spaces, build relationships, support learning and make decisions as a community.
Relationships
We believe strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of everything we do. Healthy partnerships with families, alongside responsive and relationships with children, sit at the heart of our practice. We take time to know each child, to listen closely and to respond with care and intention.
Relationships guide our decision making at every level. For educators and leadership, a
sensitive and responsive approach underpins planning, reflection and daily interactions. We
see learning as something that happens in relationship, not in isolation.
We invest time, care and resources into building and sustaining these connections, knowing
that children thrive when they feel safe, known and deeply valued.
Play, Inquiry and Outdoor Learning
We believe play is a powerful vehicle for thinking, learning and meaning making.
Our expansive outdoor environments and thoughtfully designed studios invite children into open ended exploration, inquiry and joyful play. Children are offered time and space for uninterrupted engagement, allowing ideas to deepen, evolve and connect.
Outdoor play is central to our program. Surrounded by trees, birdlife and natural elements, children are encouraged to explore, take considered risks, test physical limits and build confidence in their bodies. We see courageous play as an important part of learning, supporting children to understand their capabilities and develop resilience.
Educators are present as co thinkers and co explorers, walking alongside children rather than directing play. Children are trusted to make choices about what they engage with and how long they stay, honouring their interests, rhythms and agency.
Art Practice and the Atelier
At Albury Treetops, art is not an activity. It is a language, a way of thinking and a form of research.
Our dedicated atelier spaces invite children to explore ideas through materials, tools and processes. Children are encouraged to experiment, revisit ideas, make connections and express thinking in many forms.
Art practice is woven throughout our program, supporting inquiry based learning and deep engagement. Materials are selected for their intelligence and potential, not novelty. Process is valued over product, and children’s thinking is made visible through documentation and reflection.
We see the atelier as a shared space for children and educators
Our Team
We are proud of our team of dedicated, reflective and courageous educators.
Our educators are deeply committed to children and to their profession. We view educators as researchers of children’s learning, observing closely, documenting thoughtfully and reflecting with intention.
Professional documentation is valued as a tool for learning, growth and accountability. It supports a culture of continuous improvement and ensures our practice remains responsive, ethical and grounded in children’s lived experiences.
As a team, we value curiosity, professional bravery and innovation. Our shared commitment allows our practices to be a genuine reflection of our collective values and knowledge.
Innovate Learning Programs
Our learning programs are guided by inquiry and reflection.
We use The ROSE Way Framework to plan and program for learning across the service. Each term, our team comes together to reflect on what we are noticing in children’s play, our community’s needs, educator insights and current research.
This responsive approach ensures learning remains meaningful, relevant and deeply connected to the children and families in our care. Rather than following predetermined themes, we stay open to what emerges, allowing learning to evolve over time.
