Treetops Center Philosophy
Albury Treetops Early Education, Care and Preschool acknowledges the Wiradjuri people as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our service stands. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging and honour their enduring connection to Country, culture and community.
Relationships
Strong, trusting relationships are the foundation of learning and wellbeing. We value deep
partnerships with families and responsive, respectful relationships with children and
educators. Through connection, children develop a strong sense of belonging.
Respect
We respect each child’s voice, identity and capabilities. Families are honoured as children’s
first teachers, and educators are valued as reflective professionals. Respect for nature,
sustainability and the learning environment is embedded in everyday practice.
Play, Risk and Outdoor Learning
Children have a right to meaningful, challenging play. Through outdoor exploration and considered risk taking, children build confidence, resilience and a deeper understanding of their bodies and world.
Inquiry, Art Practice and The ROSE Way
Learning at Albury Treetops is driven by curiosity, inquiry and shared thinking. Our planning, documentation and reflection are guided by The ROSE Way Framework and the Early Years Learning Framework.
Educators are researchers of children’s play, observing closely and responding thoughtfully to children’s ideas, questions and theories. Art practice and atelier spaces offer powerful languages for thinking, experimentation and expression, allowing children to explore ideas over time and make their thinking visible.
Reconciliation and Care for Country
We are committed to honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in respectful and authentic ways. Our practice reflects a deep respect for Country, culture and the rights of all children, woven through everyday experiences of being, belonging and becoming.
